Does Etch Motion require the Etch page builder?
No. Etch Motion works best with Etch — you get the builder panel, visual configuration, and style system integration. But it also works standalone on any WordPress site. You just add data-etch-motion attributes to your HTML elements manually.
What about the GSAP license?
GSAP is free for commercial use under the Standard No Charge License since Webflow acquired GreenSock. All GSAP plugins (ScrollTrigger, SplitText, Flip, etc.) are included. Etch Motion handles loading and configuration — you don't need a separate GSAP license.
Will animations slow down my site?
No. Etch Motion only loads GSAP modules on pages that actually use animations. A page with no animated elements loads zero additional JavaScript. On animated pages, only the specific modules needed (e.g., ScrollTrigger for scroll effects) are loaded.
What about accessibility?
Etch Motion respects the prefers-reduced-motion browser setting at every level. When a user has reduced motion enabled, animations are skipped and content is shown immediately. All content remains accessible to screen readers throughout the animation lifecycle.
Can I use it on client sites?
Yes. Your license covers unlimited sites — your own and your clients'. There are no activation limits. Build as many sites as you want.
What does "element-portable" mean?
Animation configurations are stored directly on elements as HTML attributes (data-etch-motion-*), not in a plugin database. When you copy an element, share a component, or export a template, the animation travels with it. It just works on the destination site.
What happens when my license expires?
Existing animations on your sites continue to work — nothing breaks. You lose access to updates and support. Renew anytime to resume updates. Lifetime license holders never have to worry about this.
